Bean Tab Share is a Chrome extension published by BeanOS AI LLC ("BeanOS," "we," "us"). It lets a BeanOS client share one browser tab with their own Bean AI assistant so the assistant can see and help drive that tab. The extension is distributed privately to invited BeanOS clients only. It carries high privileges — including debugging-level access to the one tab you share — so that BeanOS can assist and debug on your end. If you are not a BeanOS client, do not install it: it provides no functionality without a BeanOS deployment and would only expose a debugging surface for no reason. This policy describes what data the extension handles and what we do — and never do — with it.
The extension does nothing until you act. A share starts only when you paste a share link provided by your own Bean assistant into the extension popup and click Share this tab. Only the single tab you chose is shared. Sharing ends when you click Stop sharing, close the shared tab or the driver tab, or when the share's credentials expire (at most one hour after they were issued).
While a share is active, and only for the tab you shared, the extension may capture and transmit:
- The shared tab's page content — visible text, page structure (HTML/DOM), and screenshots of the shared tab.
- The shared tab's URL and title, including as the tab navigates while shared.
- Results of assistant commands you authorized by starting the share (for example, the outcome of clicking a button or filling a form field in the shared tab).
The popup also reads the current tab's title and URL before you share, solely to show you what you are about to share. Nothing is transmitted at that point.
All captured data is uploaded to your own private cloud storage — a Google Cloud Storage bucket that is part of your BeanOS deployment — using short-lived signed credentials embedded in the share link your assistant gave you. The extension's only network destination is Google Cloud Storage (storage.googleapis.com). It sends nothing to any other server, and BeanOS operates no separate collection endpoint for the extension.
Within your deployment, the shared-tab data is read by your own Bean assistant session to perform the task you asked of it. Handling of data inside your BeanOS deployment is governed by your agreement with BeanOS — see our Terms of Use and any signed agreement between us.
- No advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind in the extension.
- No sale of your data, and no transfer to third parties (beyond Google Cloud acting as your deployment's storage infrastructure).
- No use of your data for purposes unrelated to the tab-sharing assistance you initiated, including no use for creditworthiness or lending decisions.
- No collection of your browsing history beyond the shared tab: tabs you did not share are never read or transmitted. (As disclosed above, the shared tab's own URL and title are transmitted while you share it, including as it navigates.)
The extension keeps a small amount of bookkeeping state in Chrome's extension storage on your device: the active share's identifiers, command sequence counters, and any not-yet-delivered command results. This state exists so an interrupted share can resume without repeating actions, and it is cleared when the share ends.
Do not share a tab that is displaying passwords, one-time codes, or payment card entry, and do not use the share to send credentials to your assistant. Bean assistants are instructed not to request, expose, or persist credentials through tab-share, and not to auto-submit purchases, payments, contracts, or other consequential actions without your confirmation.
Shared-tab artifacts live in your deployment's storage bucket and are subject to your deployment's lifecycle cleanup and your agreement with BeanOS. The share credentials themselves expire within at most one hour of issuance; after that, the extension can neither fetch new commands nor upload results for that share.
We may update this policy as the extension evolves; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated to the invited clients who use the extension.
